Alva Industries is set to debut TorqStudio, a new platform for custom motor design and analysis, at the upcoming SPS 2025 exhibition.
Visitors attending the event in Hall 3, Booth 259, will have the opportunity to view a live preview of the software at Alva’s booth before its official general release.
Developed entirely in-house, the system is designed to bring simulation and design tools directly to engineers, supporting the workflow from initial concept exploration through to detailed performance verification.
The platform operates on two core capabilities, the first being motor creation. This function allows users to input a desired motor size, after which the system automatically generates a variety of optimized motor variants. These generated designs account for specific engineering tradeoffs, including motor mass, motor constant (Km), torque capability, and efficiency.
Alva reports that the engine driving TorqStudio is fully analytical, allowing for result generation in milliseconds rather than the minutes or hours often required by traditional methods. The company states that every motor generated is mathematically accurate, physically realistic, and consistent with actual manufacturing constraints.
Anton Franzén, Director of Product Management at Alva, commented on the utility of the new tool, “TorqStudio enables engineers to go from concept to viable motor design instantly. It removes guesswork, accelerates decision-making, and unlocks rapid exploration of optimal configurations.”
Beyond creation, the platform provides deep analytical tools for performance evaluation. Engineers can analyze the custom motors created within the software as well as Alva’s standard catalog products, such as torque and frameless motors. This functionality enables users to assess performance data, including torque, power, efficiency, and thermal implications, at specific operating points prior to committing to hardware.
The platform aims to reduce the need for extended simulation cycles or repetitive back-and-forth requests during the design process.
“Our goal with TorqStudio is simple,” said Nicolas Giraudo, CCO. “Give engineers control. Let them design, explore, validate, and innovate at the speed ideas come.”
