The Bâtiment Ravitailleur de Forces (BRF) Jacques Stosskopf is the 2nd in a collection of 4 ships planned for the French Navy, the order for which was informed in January 2019 by the Joint Weaponry Teamwork Organisation (OCCAR) to Chantiers de l’Atlantique and Naval Team.

The FlotLog program belongs to a Franco-Italian participation led by OCCAR in support of the French Protection Purchase Firm (DGA) and its Italian equivalent NAVARM, within the Logistic Assistance Ship (LSS) program.

The BRF Jacques Stosskopf was introduced on August 19, 2024 in Saint-Nazaire.
