GeekWire Gala recap: A sweet night in Seattle as community comes together for annual holiday bash

That was wonderful! The Seattle technology neighborhood collaborated in a huge means Thursday evening at the yearly GeekWire Gala, as Showbox SoDo was the setup for a cheery, candy-themed, vacation event.

Greater than 700 participants loaded the place for an evening of networking and partying, provided by Gala enroller First Tech Federal Credit Union.

There was a lot of songs– from the College of Washington’s Furmata A Cappella to DJ Mixtress to the Geekaroke karaoke in the Lollipop Lounge.
The food and beverages were wonderful, with trademark alcoholic drinks, a mashed potato bar, cool Thai noodle bar, sliders, cupcakes, and much more. And there was great deals and great deals of sweet.
Custom-printed macarons from Macadons were ended up all evening with photos of individuals, family pets and even more.
There was likewise an enjoyable caricature artist, a cheery style competition, LED video games and a 360-degree picture cubicle that was rotating all evening.

In an unique program prior to the main event started, we commemorated the area’s “Uncommon Thinkers” — Seattle-area developers, researchers, engineers and business owners changing sectors and driving favorable adjustment worldwide.

The guest of honors consisted of: Healthy protein layout scientist Ingrid Swanson Pultz; combination power professional Uri Shumlak, Stoke Room Chief Executive Officer Andy Lapsa, TerraPower Isotopes’ Chris Dunckley; and AI scientist Hannaneh Hajishirzi
