Following the release of the latest Global Mapper® application, Blue Marble Geographics has unveiled an updated version of the Global Mapper SDK.
This new toolkit equips developers with the analysis, format compatibility, and display functions of Blue Marble Geographics’ acclaimed desktop application in a streamlined package. Windows applications in C++, C#, and Python can now incorporate powerful geospatial features with ease.
Global Mapper SDK v26.0 (Standard)
Web-Based and Tiled Datasets
Web-based data needs to be loaded and rendered swiftly in browsers. This includes images, lines and points, raster data, meshes, tiles, and 3D models.
Version 26 of the Global Mapper SDK expands on export options for these datasets, adding read and write support for the GL Transmission format (glTF/GLB). It also enables the creation of additional Cesium-based data tilesets, including digital elevations, point clouds, meshes, and 3D models.
Metadata
As lidar point cloud accessibility and technology advance, so do the demands for storing its complex data components.
The latest LAS 1.4 specification brings new capabilities for identifying features and unique attributes using Extended Variable Length Records (EVLRs). These capabilities are now supported in the LAS and Global Mapper Package formats within the GM 26.0 SDK.
Global Mapper Pro SDK v26.0
Global Mapper Pro offers several advanced tools for handling the most complex geospatial data processing and analysis tasks, including lidar point cloud classification and the Pixels to Points toolkit for drone-collected data.
Solar Analysis
Global Mapper Pro now provides Solar Analysis tools for solar energy calculations using spatial datasets. These tools let users adjust settings for a specific time or season and even generate time-sliced datasets to visualize solar exposure over time. All this functionality is accessible through Global Mapper script tools within the Global Mapper Pro SDK.
Pixels to Points for Enhanced Drone Data Processing
As drone imaging technology advances, so does the complexity of the data it generates. The Pixels to Points toolkit has been further optimized in response to user needs and continues to excel in processing the latest image datasets.
In the Global Mapper Pro SDK v26.0, users will notice faster performance throughout the processing pipeline, allowing more time for data collection.
Model Key Point Generation for Streamlined Point Cloud Analysis
Easily reduce large lidar datasets into manageable sections using model key points. Version 26 of the Global Mapper Pro SDK allows users to load extensive point cloud datasets and create a simplified model with only the essential data.
Once simplified, users can convert the point cloud into a compact TIN surface that integrates with other geospatial applications.
