In 2024, the private mobile network market continued to grow as the number of unique customer references for deployments reached 1,714. The market is being driven by sectors like manufacturing, education, and mining, which use these networks for enhanced data, security and mobility needs.

The report tracks 1,714 customer deployments around the world, with the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom leading the way. It also covers the role of key players, including over 50 equipment vendors and 66 telecom operators, in deploying these networks.

Other highlights this quarter include:

• There are 80 countries around the world with at least one private mobile network.
• Of the top 10 reporting countries, the Republic of Korea and the United States reported the highest growth of 12%.
• Seaports and oil and gas were the fastest-growing industries, up 9%. Manufacturing, education and academic research and mining remain the top three sectors for customer references, although this does not represent the actual size and scale of deployments, which vary by user type.
• Defence and peacekeeping was the fastest-growing industry, adding 21 new references in 4Q24, followed by manufacturing, with 19 new customers. Manufacturing, education and academic research and mining remain the top three sectors for customer references.
