Progressive Robotics, an innovative robotics startup based in Thessaloniki has raised €1.55 million in a seed funding round to make advanced robotic automation accessible to SMEs through its AI-powered, no-code platform.
The round was led by Marathon Venture Capital, with continued support from Genesis Ventures.
“Our vision is to empower businesses, large and small, by removing the barriers to robotic adoption,” said Fotis Dimeas, CEO of Progressive Robotics. “This funding will enable us to scale our technology, expand globally, and bring Amazon-like robotics capabilities to SMEs.”
Founded in 2023 by Fotis Dimeas, Marios Kiatos, and Zoe Doulgeri, Progressive Robotics develops AI-driven, no-code software solutions designed to simplify and enhance robotic deployment. Its mission is to bring advanced automation to businesses of all sizes, enabling them to optimise operations and achieve new levels of efficiency.
The company’s software transforms the deployment and management of robotic arms, allowing operators with no technical background to configure and reprogram robots in minutes – according to Progressive Robotics. This significantly lowers costs and improves flexibility, empowering SMEs to harness the operational efficiencies typically reserved for larger enterprises.
Progressive Robotics has already delivered notable results, including 20% faster operations and substantial cost reductions in sectors like food production and logistics.
Central to the company’s offering is its mixed-case palletizer, a cutting-edge system that leverages machine learning and 3D perception technologies. This feature enables robots to dynamically adapt to various product shapes, sizes, and weights in real-time, optimising space usage while ensuring stability and safety.
Such innovations aim to bring Progressive Robotics to the forefront of the growing robotics market, a trend also recognised by major industry players like Nvidia.
The funding will fuel product development, scale operational capabilities, and accelerate international expansion.
Progressive Robotics has already formed partnerships with prominent robotic OEMs, including ABB Robotics, Elite Robots, and Schmalz, ensuring its platform integrates seamlessly with industry-leading hardware.
“Progressive Robotics is breaking down the technical and financial barriers that have traditionally limited automation for smaller businesses,” said Panos Papadopoulos, Partner at Marathon Venture Capital. “We are thrilled to support their vision of making advanced robotics an attainable reality for SMEs worldwide.”
