Professors and scientists throughout MIT’s College of Design get several honors in acknowledgment of their scholarship, solution, and total quality. The College of Design occasionally identifies their success by highlighting the honors, rewards, and medals won by professors and study researchers operating in our scholastic divisions, laboratories, and facilities.

Daniel G. Anderson in the Division of Chemical Design and the Institute for Medical Scientific Research and Design was chosen to the National Academy of Medicine on Oct. 9, and to the National Academy of Inventors on Dec. 19.
Regina Barzilay in the Division of Electric Design and Computer Technology and the Institute for Medical Scientific Research and Design was chosen to the National Academy of Medicine on Oct. 9.
Sangeeta Bhatia in the Division of Electric Design and Computer technology was chosen as a Foreign Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering on Oct. 11.
Michael Birnbaum in the Division of Biological Design was chosen as a Pew 2023 Innovation Fund investigator on Oct. 24.
Vincent Chan in the Division of Electric Design and Computer technology obtained an IEEE Edison Medal on Dec. 13.
Yet-Ming Chiang in the Division of Products Scientific Research and Design was chosen to Time’s 100 on Climate on Nov. 16.
Connor W. Coley in the Division of Chemical Design was called a Samsung AI Researcher of the Year Awardee on Nov. 14.
James J. Collins in the Division of Biological Design and the Institute for Medical Design and Scientific research obtained the 2023 Feynman Prize on Oct. 27.
James Fujimoto in the Division of Electric Design and Computer technology obtained the National Medal of Technology and Innovation on Oct. 24.
Ariel Furst in the Division of Chemical Design obtained the National Institutes of Health New Innovator Award on Oct. 5.
Marzyeh Ghassemi in the Institute for Medical Design and Scientific research obtained the 2023 MIT Prize for Open Data on Oct. 24.
Jack Hare in the Division of Nuclear Scientific research and Design obtained a National Science Foundation Career Award on Nov. 11.
Darrell J. Irvine in the Division of Biological Design was chosen to the National Academy of Medicine on Oct. 9.
Jesse Kroll in the Division of Civil and Environmental Design obtained the Award for Excellence in Postdoctoral Mentoring on Oct. 13.
Robert Langer, Institute Teacher in the Division of Chemical Design and Division of Biological Design, obtained the 2023 Dr. Paul Janssen Award on Dec. 19.
Bradley Olsen in the Division of Chemical Design was called a 2023 Advancing Physics Society Fellow on Oct. 20.
Ritu Raman in the Division of Mechanical Design obtained a 2024 Young Investigator Award from the Office of Naval Research on Oct. 10.
Jessica Stark in the Division of Biological Design obtained the Steven A. Rosenberg Scholars Award on Nov. 3.
Caroline Uhler in the Division of Electric Design and Computer technology obtained a National Institutes of Health New Innovator Award on Oct. 4.
