Vibrant auroras showed up around Japan’s Honshu and Hokkaido islands on May 11, 2024, triggered by an extreme magnetic tornado. Typically, auroras observed at reduced latitudes show up red because of the exhaust of oxygen atoms. However on now, a salmon pink aurora was observed throughout the evening, while an abnormally high, blue-dominant aurora showed up soon prior to twelve o’clock at night.
