A 28GHz time-division multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) receiver with eight radio frequency parts, every occupying simply 0.1 mm2, has been developed by researchers at Tokyo Tech utilizing 65nm CMOS expertise. This modern design reduces chip measurement for beamforming. Reaching -23.5 dB error vector magnitude in 64-quadrature amplitude modulation and information charges as much as 9.6 Gbps, this receiver gives the best space effectivity and quickest beam switching amongst reported MIMO receivers.
