Concrete modules with self-healing oyster reef structure in Florida Panhandle Bay installed to protect military base

united state Flying force authorities set up a brand-new type of framework in the waters of St. Andrew Bay on the coast of the Tyndall United State Flying Force Base in Northwest Florida on Oct. 30– the initial area of a Rutgers University-designed “self-healing” coral reef made from custom-made concrete components and living oysters. The coral reef is developed to shield the base and its individuals from typhoons and tidal rises.
