New benchmarking information contrasting the South African mining industry to various other sectors exposes a plain and mostly concealed threat account: harassment threat in mining is nearly two times the nationwide standard, with serious sex based physical violence- (GBV-) associated practices taking place at much greater strength than in other places in the economic situation, according to not-for-profit organisation (NPO) the Resilient Office Institute. The NPO notes, in a news releases, that the Harassment Threat Analysis (HRA) information accumulated throughout mining procedures reveals a total harassment threat index (HRI) of 3.36, compared to 1.82 for the more comprehensive South African labor force.
