How Clinicians Actually Find Information in the EHR
Finding an echocardiogram in the EHR should be simple, but anything older than a year often turns into a scavenger hunt. Twelve clicks in this case. Those clicks disappeared the minute his team turned on Wellsheet.
“The information is in the electronic record, there is no question about it,” said Dr. Solano. “An echo that was done a year ago would require a minimum of 12 clicks to find it. Now we have a program [Wellsheet] where I don’t have to click anything. It’s just in front of me.”
