Deep-ultraviolet (DUV, λ < 200 nm) all-solid-state lasers, important to modern-day clinical study and commercial production, are extensively used in areas from product evaluation to lithography. Their commercialization depends greatly on high-performance nonlinear optical (NLO) crystals, however establishing such crystals is hindered by stringent needs: They have to all at once have big 2nd harmonic generation (SHG) reactions, modest birefringence, and broad bandgaps.
