As this month’s string of effective X-class solar flares triggered great auroras that illuminated skies throughout an uncommonly broad swath of the world– from north Europe to Florida– scientists at NJIT’s Facility for Solar-Terrestrial Study (CSTR) recorded a much less noticeable, however vital, document of the tornado’s effect on Planet’s top ambience.
