Study uncovers condensed-matter dark states in a quantum system with two pairs of sublattices

Dark states are quantum states in which a system does not engage with outside areas, such as light (i.e., photons) or magnetic fields. These states, which usually happen as a result of disturbances in between the paths whereby a system engages with an outside area, are undetected making use of spectroscopic methods.
