For the 18th year running, Multimodal in 2025 will bring together the supply chain and logistics community all under the one roof for three days from 17th to 19th June in Hall 4 at the NEC in Birmingham.

Multimodal brings shippers and cargo owners to the free-to-attend show to improve their businesses by finding ways of moving their products more efficiently, more sustainably, and more cost effectively. Hosting every logistics sector, Multimodal offers a unique opportunity to make valuable face-to-face contact with new prospects and to network with existing suppliers.

Key vertical sectors attending include manufacturing, retail, agribusiness, chemical, automotive, electronics, FMCG, food & drink, fashion, pharmaceuticals, construction, aerospace, energy, real estate, recycling, paper/print, and perishables.

The logistics trade show runs the gamut from awards and networking to expo spaces for trucking, freight, and rail companies representing the best and brightest in the industry. The event in 2024 was the most successful to date, with a sell-out exhibition, record visitor numbers and the most ever entries to its recognised industry-leading Awards. 307 exhibitors showcased their products and services to 13,003 visitors – an increase of 6% on the previous year – and with all tickets to the sought after Awards evening once again selling out for the third year in succession.

A fundamental element of Multimodal is the free to attend 80+ conference sessions, hosted by top-level speakers and leading industry experts in indepth discussions and knowledge sharing ensuring the sessions are extremely relevant to the whole multimodal community. Compiled in conjunction with the industry’s leading trade associations including Logistics UK, the Cold Chain Federation, the Rail Freight Group, the Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics, the British International Freight Association, the Chartered Institute of Export and International Trade, the United Kingdom Warehousing Association, the Road Haulage Association to name a few, reinforces the topics are of paramount importance to each genre and are at the core of the discussions.

In addition, and new for 2025 are CPD hours that can be earned in the conference sessions towards your continuing professional development.

Once again for 2025, the ever popular Google Digital Garage will be in attendance to help on the digital and social marketing front and will be hosting a series of sessions over the three days complemented by individual mentoring opportunities.

Also new for 2025 will be an AI Clinic featuring interactive sessions and personalised consultations. These clinics are an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about how AI can transform their business. Whether you have a specific AI issue or just want to understand how it can help improve your supply chain operations, the experts from Problems Solved will be on hand to provide practical advice and clear answers.

Multimodal will be hosting two networking events: the much coveted Multimodal Awards on the 17th June, and the Multimodal Mixer on the 18th June. The Mixer is free to attend to all visitors and exhibitors and will take place on Wednesday 18th June from 5-7 pm in the Hall, giving all attendees a chance to mingle after hours over drinks and nibbles in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Multimodal Modal Awards, which celebrate excellence in rail, road, air, maritime, and freight forwarding services are open for nominations until 28th March 2025 with voting for the finalists opening from 7th April through to the 23rd May.

The categories for nomination are Rail Freight Company, Road Freight Company, Air Freight Company, Sea Freight Company, Port Company, and 3PL of the Year.

The Modal Awards are nominated and voted for by the thousands of readers of the Multimodal Newsletter plus exhibitors and visitors to Multimodal through an independent Awards nomination and voting system making them one of the fairest industry Awards.

The written Awards are also open for entries with the deadline of 22nd April with Finalists being announced on 1st May when the entries will be sent off to the independent panel of judges for their expert review. These Awards includes Best Warehouse Operation, Customs Technology Partner, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Company, Best Technology Company; Shipper/Partner of the Year; Sustainability Company; Young Logistics Professional, and Technology Company.

All Award winners will be announced at the Multimodal 2025 Awards evening held at the stunning VOX Centre on the NEC Resorts World on the first evening of Multimodal, Tuesday 17th June. Winning an Award is a true independent endorsement of a company’s excellence.

Hugely entertaining after dinner speaker, and Robbie Coltrane’s body double as giant Hagrid in the Harry Potter films, Martin Bayfield will be on hand to present the much coveted Awards to the finalists in both categories. Martin is more recognisable as one of England’s former and most potent rugby forwards winning 31 caps for England. He is now an established member of the BBC commentary team, as well as host of Channel Five’s NFL coverage and The World’s Strongest Man.
