VFS supports multiple initiatives to advance hydrogen-electric fuel cell aviation for new eVTOL and eCTOL/eSTOL aircraft applications. In May 2020, VFS founded the H2eVTOL Council, which was spun off into the non-profit HYSKY Society. In January 2022, VFS created the H2-Aero Team to develop a white paper for a Multimodal Hydrogen Airport Hub.

UAM Geomatics and the Vertical Flight Society collaborated on an important study,Urban Air Mobility (UAM) — Economics and Global Markets.
