The seamounts of Cape Verde: A biodiversity hotspot and a priority for marine conservation

A worldwide group has actually released the initially detailed research on the seamounts of the Cape Verde island chain, their biodiversity, environmental performance and socio-economic importance in the journal Development in Oceanography. The group was led by Covadonga Orejas, a scientist at the Gijón Oceanographic Facility of the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO-CSIC); Veerle Huvenne, a scientist at the UK National Oceanography Facility (NOC); and Jacob González-Solís, teacher at the Professors of Biology and the Biodiversity Research Study Institute (IRBio) of the College of Barcelona.
