Antarctic icefish are popular for living without red cell, yet they are not the only one. A types of needle-shaped, warm-water fish called the Eastern noodlefish likewise does not have hemoglobin and red cell. Like icefish, its capillaries are full of transparent white blood, claimed H. William Detrich, teacher emeritus of aquatic and ecological scientific researches, that worked together with Chinese researchers on a paper concerning the unusual water animals released in Present Biology.
